*Sounds like a monopsony question: if employer wants to know how much of a monopsony they have over you as a candidate. Captured audience syndrome is a thing in business. Have a lot of demand, then command a price to be captured as to not look for other jobs. In other words, why look for other jobs when a contract can be created to not to? This might be the best way (for jobs in demand but the employer thinks they are the only buyer of your labor but is not) to offer before they do a non-compete contract with employment (with plenty of compensation.)
