maybe, especially when dates in Europe are day-month-year rather than N. American date system month-day-year. Second, why would that system be better from the ET's perspective? Maybe simpler diplomacy?
Maybe not an earth based calendar system. Maybe some sort of light year system per conversion between Earth and their Earth-base or home world?
