It is a partial design feature of the job to "boreout" employees that are "too efficient" or masking their intentions. It is possible that the employee was not true to their word in the job they said they can do; at least this is how HR or some kind of corporate consulting firm might see this. Many companies (mid-tier and higher) hire consulting firms (think "Office Space") to design and consult with employees and c-suite to see what can be made efficient in the "J.O.B."
Due to the boredom effect of some employment issues in the "J.O.B." market. it is possible to design a system to prolong the onset of the effects of "boreout." We have that at a place that I work, and it is possible to keep employees awake or alert in their job longer. Yes, I work at a place that has had issues and is a near "public"-private partnership "utility" and alertness is important in that industry.
