its about data control AND garbage control. the electronics industry has always had a recycling and landfill problem. if leasing agreements solve disposal concerns the the sake of data release agreements buried in legalese for political expediency. (the politics of ownership is relative to how the courts view ownership. if you lease something, do you really own what happened over that device?)
